Message From Chief Ryan
Thank you for your interest in the Elkton Police Department (EPD). We are committed to providing
the citizens of Elkton with high quality, community-focused police service. The rapid growth in our community is presenting
new challenges to Elkton citizens, elected officials and the Elkton Police Department. As a community we can effectively
manage challenges that impact our quality of life, if we work cooperatively for the collective good of the Town of Elkton. I
am working hard to build new, and foster existing, relationships between the Elkton Police Department and Local, County, State and
Federal agencies and officials. Further, I am initiating programs to better integrate and align the Elkton Police with our businesses,
schools, neighborhoods and community groups. In response to community concerns about vice and narcotics related activities,
the EPD recently formed the Vice/Narcotics Section (V/NS). The V/NS is a permanent team composed of plainclothes officers.
The assigned officers interact with a variety of law enforcement agencies to meet the needs of our community. Another initiative
is the creation of the Community Resource Coordinator (CRC) role, which is a volunteer position within the Police Department.
The CRC reports directly to me, and has responsibilities related to the integration of the Elkton Police Department, community groups
and businesses.
I appreciate the opportunity to serve as Chief of the Elkton Police Department, and look forward
to working with all who want to make Elkton a great place to live.
Chief William E. Ryan, Sr.
