park on Main St or timed parking areas for extended periods of time. The Town of Elkton currently has no special parking provision
for extended parking in timed parking areas of the Town. The same situation is true for Main St. residents.
Questions are
often asked about parking in the Fire Lanes while loading and unloading merchandise. Generally, the question is something similar
to "Can I park my vehicle in the fire lane while I load and unload merchandise?" Fire lane parking is reserved for emergency
vehicles or official vehicles during the conduct of official activities. Therefore, EPD encourages the use of loading docks
or entrances apart from fire lanes to load and unload merchandise. Vehicles (especially unoccupied) parked in marked fire
lanes are at risk for receiving parking citations.
